For a long time, a topic is under discussion that students should take part in politics or not? Some people think that students must be a part of politics of a country. and some people are totally against it. The people who encourage the participation of students in politics are usually an important part of political parties. According to their point of view these political parties continue motivating the people to build up the political organisations in various educational institutes. These political parties provide them funds and supervise them too. The people belonging to these parties express their views that after completing education, students will become good politicians who will be the rulers and leaders of the nation in future. If students would remain unaware of the basic knowledge about politics then they would not be able to hold firmly the future of their nation. Therefore the educational institutes would would work work as political institutes for the students to make them aware of all political affairs. Here the students would learn and get the power of political foreseeing and would use it in the future in practical life to become great politician.
It is a fact that any campaign can never get success without the support of the people and it is necessary to consider the students to make any campaign successful. The revolution is Russia and France, Renaissance in Egypt and great success of Muslim League in Indo-Pak to get separate nation for the Muslims, all became possible only due to the continuous and endless struggle of the students. Few years ago, the governments of Japan and Indonesia were dissolved only by the power of students. When Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in Pakistan started a campaign against General Ayub Khan then students played a vital role in its success. Nearly for 5 months all the educational institutes remained closed and eventually General Yahya Khan took the charge of new government and General Ayub Khan had no choice except leaving the government. for this all credit goes to the students of that time.
Being lawful, the great political leader of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah was actually against the participation of the students in politics. But in general elections of 1945 to 1946, when Muhammad Ali Jinnah asked the students to stop their educational activities temporarily and support him in Making the Pakistan Campaign successful then the students especially of Ali Garh University and Islamia College Lahore showed great enthusiasm in the favour of Pakistan Campaign and played a crucial role by following the instructions of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. In this way Muslim League had become the campaign of all the people. There happened many clashes of Muslims with Sikhs and Hindus but the all the Muslims and students did not give up and as a result of their continuous efforts, Pakistan came into existence and rose on the map of the world as a new Islamic Republic.
It is an accepted reality that students anywhere in the world possess a great potential to bring a change anywhere in any circumstances. They know to shed the blood of their enemies and also get ready to sacrifice their lives to achieve their aim and purpose. Aged politicians can just deliver the useless artificial speeches to make the people fool but in order to bring the real change, students must be considered as a useful strength and weapon of a nation. Only students with their warm blood and great spirit can turn the table over in even hard situations.
The people who are against the participation of students in politics, have solid reasons about their this view. They say that the main purpose of students in their life is to get education to make their future bright and secure. It is obvious that taking part in politics will take all the time of students in performing political activities which they should utilise in their study and education. In such situations, neither they get academic education properly nor they become able to understand the political matters. Students must consider each and every moment of their life too precious. Muhammad Ali Jinnah while addressing the students of Islamia College Lahore suggested them not to waste their precious time in useless political activities but fully concentrate on getting higher education which would be very helpful for them in future to lead their nature towards right direction.

This decision taken by Head of any school, college or university could not be challenged in any court of the country. Therefore at the time of admission, students now write and submit an affidavit assuring that they will not get associated with any political organisation and will fully focus on their education. This important step left a very positive impact on the environment of educational institutes. Most of the educational institutes are now no more available to carry out the political activities and students are giving proper time to their education. Many political forces pressurize the government to cancel this law but nobody go in their favour.
Simply we can say that the actual responsibility of the students is to educate themselves in a tension free atmosphere so that they could acquire pure and maximum knowledge about their field subjects. However they must be aware of the national and international political issues and affairs because it will help them discriminating good from the evil after entering their practical life. On this ideology can lead any nation of the world towards progress, prosperity and development.
